Cellplex Pty Ltd (formerly known as Cobe Cardiovascular Australia Pty Ltd) was founded in 1985. Prior to a Management buyout in 2003, we were a member of the Sorin Group of companies who are dedicated to delivering therapeutic solutions in the treatment of cardiovascular disease.

Cellplex Pty Ltd has maintained long-term distribution and licensing agreements with the Sorin Group, who have a long and rich history of providing innovative products for the cardiovascular surgeon, the perfusionist and the patient. With the strength of our partner companies, no other organisation in the Australian and New Zealand marketplace can offer the breadth of products and services to our customers today.

Cellplex Pty Ltd Company History:

COBE Laboratories was established in Australia as a direct subsidiary of Cobe Cardiovascular Int. in 1985 and has enjoyed great recognition and success.

Cobe Cardiovascular Australia Pty Ltd was the result of the acquisition and the amalgamation of two companies in 1994. The first Company, Cobe Laboratories Australia Pty Ltd, was based in Blackburn, Victoria and had been in existence for well in excess of 10 years. Its primary business was the importation and distribution of Oxygenators to the Australian healthcare market. The second Company was E.V.Lovells, based in Carrum Downs, Victoria, and had been in existence for over 30 years. Its core business was the manufacture and distribution of Heart Lung Packs to support Oxygenators to the Australian healthcare market.

In 1998 these two companies moved to one purpose built site in Dandenong South, which is the home of Cellplex Pty Ltd. In May 1999 an Italian based company, the Sorin Group, as part of a worldwide acquisition of the Cobe Group acquired them. SNIA is the largest entity in the world dedicated to meeting the needs of the cardiopulmonary market.

In January 2003, a Management Buyout of Cobe Cardiovascular Australia Pty Ltd was negotiated. This resulted in the Company being sold to the Management Team. Long-term distribution agreements were entered into with Dideco, Cobe and Stockert which will ensure that the involvement of these companies in Australia and New Zealand will continue for a very long time.

The principal activity of Cellplex Pty Ltd today is to import, manufacture and distribute cardiovascular medical products within Australia, New Zealand and parts of South East Asia.
